About Ronnie

An MFA Screenwriting graduate from Screen Academy Scotland.

He currently has three feature scripts optioned (in the UK and USA) and eight produced short films. Actors who have appeared in his short films include; Peter Mullan (Ozark, Westworld) and Jason Flemyng (X-Men-First Class, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button). His short films have been selected for festivals in Europe, USA and Australia.

To date they have received the following nominations: Best Short Film at London’s East End Film Festival, 2010; Best Comedy Short at the Limelight Film Awards, 2012; Best Drama Short at the Limelight Film Awards, 2013; Finalist in International Competition at the Moving Pictures Festival, Antwerp, 2016; Best Horror Short and Best Lead performance at Nightmares Film Festival, Ohio, 2024; Best Supporting Actor and Actress at Filmquest Film Festival, Utah, 2024.

His play, Multiple Choice ran for two weeks at the Edinburgh International Festival Fringe in 2011 and he has created characters, initial storylines and scripts for the online series, Persona.

In 2008 he was a winner of the national BBC Writersroom ‘Sharps’ competition.

He himself was selected for the 2011/2012 EIFF Network development programme and the MEDIA funded, 2009 ‘Engage’ European training initiative.

His feature script, Out There, was selected as one of eight European projects in development for the European Genre Forum, 2017, and one of seven UK feature film projects to be pitched to execs at the Filmarket Hub 2020 UK Online Pitchbox

He is currently developing feature and television scripts.
