Paula Rahn

My name is Paula and I am a screenwriter based out of Los Angeles. I have two television movies in post-production to be aired in December and another in development.
I spent five years on the Los Angeles stand-up circuit and helped fellow comedians punch up their sets and scripts. I stopped doing my own standup becauseI find creating the next great character and story is better suited to my particular set of skills (you just read that in Liam Neeson’s voice).

I have written or consulted on countless speeches of all kinds, essays, pitches and short videos. I can create a story arc for two minute or two hour projects. I just recently consulted on a sci-fi comedic pilot and ghostwrote a persuasive/motivational 20 minute speech.

I am particularly strong in developing characters of any kind, character arcs and believable dialogue. I can transform your project with quippy, clever dialogue and punch up any script to have those "laugh out loud" moments everyone craves. I know the right way to pull on an audience's heartstrings and root for the underdog. I also understand the process, from start to finish and know how brutal the whole thing can be. Nothing makes me sweat more than the page by page executive note session! Literally, I sweat. A lot.

I bring the experience of knowing what's in the minds of the production company, directors, actors, the executive who ends up with your script in the pile of scripts submitted that season and, most importantly, the audience. I look forward to hearing from you and working with you.
