About Ryan

Ryan is a multi-award winning and BAFTA Nominated film director and actor. Credits include Choices, Minds of Glass, Besieged, Falling & Perfect Strangers. He is also a skilled editor and camera operator in the field of Video Journalism and Corporate Video Production.

From as little as seven years old Ryan became fascinated by the creativity of film, starting with small writing projects he continued to develop his ability in screen writing until the age of fifteen when he made his first amateur film with friends and family, that amateur film was later remade as a no budget feature film, although still very much an amateur film maker, Ryan aspired to build up his skill to where he is now currently an Independent Film Maker.

In 2005 Ryan turned to talents in front of the camera, training for two years in Acting & Performance primarily at Stow College, then furthering that training with an Acting for Camera course taught by industry professionals such as Kahleen Crawford and Robert Carlyle.

Ryan gained agent representation as a result of his short film Choices, in which he directed and starred in alongside renowned actress Fletcher Mathers.

Ryan's festive short film Perfect Strangers screened at the Cannes Film Festival 2015 as well as a number of festivals around the world, including a BAFTA Nomination for Best Actress Clare Sheerin. Perfect Strangers is currently available worldwide on Shorts.Tv.

Ryan's recent short film Sundown starring Caitlin Blackwood (Dr Who) & Frazer Hines (Dr Who / Outlander) has recently been selected for the Oscar qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival in Los Angeles.

Ryan is preparing to direct his debut feature film Journey Bound starring Clare Grogan, Ford Kiernan and Sylvester McCoy.
