My passion is finding new stories, or new perspectives on old stories, and building a collaborative narrative that speaks to everyone through universal truths. I have been able to research and explore a variety of interests with many different types of job experiences & a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, with focuses in Civic Engagement & Film, Television and Digital Media from UCLA. All of this combined reflect my belief that story-telling, and particularly the stories we tell through pop culture, can impact large groups of people in incredible ways.
I believe the only way to truly learn another perspective is to see it over and over again. I am a strong believer in visible diversity in entertainment and every day workplaces, such as Congress. In my experience, I found the integration of entertainment and education is key to creating lasting, impactful conversations about current issues. Entertainment such as Wonder Woman and Black Panther and others such as Allegiance by George Takei have shown me the kind of engagement pop culture can bring to everyone and that I hope to continue bringing in the future.
