Have traveled much of the globe working in various capacities in movie and television writing and production. Most often in writing or co-writing the screenplay or teleplay being produced, and/or in some producing capacity --often line-producer- along with some creative producing role.
On one movie I worked in Russia and the Ukraine -- who was to know back then???!!!
Also worked in va rious parts of southern Africa, mostly South Africa- The British Isles- Switzerland- Sweden- Brazil- Hong Kong- even the Galapagos Islands and the North Pole.
First started in Miami and then went out to L.A. where I did a bit of writing and worked as a production assistant -in various production departments. That is how I got in the position to have some of my scripts read and move up on the production ladder.
Unfortunately, I never wrote a screenplay that was any box-office smash. In fact, they in most cases did not get theatrical distribution except in some smaller foreign territories. But all of the projects except one made profits for the producers and investors through the broadcast and DVD markets. Not just made some money back--made profits!
I also wrote the pilot episode and some others for a family TV series that ran on Fox FX in the USA, Disney UK, Halmark Channel in South America, and on many other foreign outlets.
Then left the business for some time due to some shifts in foreign market sales and a couple of bad decisions on my part like not joining the DGA when offered an opportunity by someone who made it quite big in the business. Anyway, it was a big mistake leaving as I lost contacts out in LA and became a part of the ou-=of-sight- out of mind thing syndrome.
In recent times I have started. writing some feature spec scripts again-- mostly in the thriller and horror genres-so far.
I have received a couple of script option contracts from small LA production companies, but they were for $0 option fees. I debated doing them but was advised not to by a couple of working writers I know out there. Hoping to get more traction and write more things in the near future.
"Dare To Be Scared" Budget: $1M - $5M | Horror When a group of high school gamers play a computer game inside an abandoned and haunted mortuary, the game starts killing the participants, forcing a plucky teenager to solve the game and overcome her greatest fear before she and her brother become the game's next victims.
