About Lee

A passionate television producer and filmmaker for the past two decades, K. Lee Anderson began her career first as a commercial producer, then later --- as a news producer, capturing true stories for broadcast in Maryland. Since that time, she has been a FILMSTERS principal. FILMSTERS, LLC is a production and development company that develops stories, characters and produces documentaries, reality TV, independent films and digital content creation for multiple formats.

Lee's true love is documentary storytelling. At present, she is producing two feature documentary films, TO VERA WITH LOVE and GREAT BIG BABY. In addition to that, she is the EP for a new media company focused on Millennial issues that is the first ever platform of bi-directional journalism.

Anderson’s past credits have appeared on ABC, CBS, Lifetime, Discovery, Turner, Discovery Health and others. She has produced everything from wildlife shows to wedding series, reality TV to hard-hitting issue driven, human-interest indie docs; Lee is the recipient of a Christopher Columbus Award, a CINE Golden Eagle award and a CableACE nomination. She has also won several numerous film festival awards at top tier festivals. As one of the producers on ABC primetime show Extreme Makeover, Anderson handled field logistics and production for three seasons. She was also a producer on a LIFETIME reality TV pilot, THE BIG SECRET in 2010.

Anderson is an Executive Producer of the 2016 feature-length documentary, REVOLVING DOORS, which explores the cycles of incarceration and re-offending for non-violent convicted felons. FILMSTERS production company credits include the 2013 indie feature, JAMESY BOY, starring James Woods, Mary Louise Parker and Ving Rhames, based on James Burns the real-life character from their award-winning doc feature IF I COULD.

Some of FILMSTERS national corporate clients include Google, Synergics, Pfizer and AT&T.

She oversees all aspects of production management. Lee is actively involved in budgeting, field production, logistics, hiring crew, post-production workflow and scheduling, casting, program development and rights aggregation of properties for development into feature films, documentaries, scripted programming and reality TV series. She loves new technology, listening to TED Talks while exercising, fine wine, dark chocolate and good coffee.

In 2002, Anderson created and co-founded FILMSTERS Academy, a hands-on experiential summer program for youth between the ages of 11-18 that teaches the art of filmmaking. This summer will be its 18th year in existence. Many graduates are working in the industry in NY and LA.

In 2012, she co-founded and produced the Annapolis Film Festival along with her producing partner Patti White. She is currently, along with her producing partner, Patti White, one of the Festival Directors and a member of Board of Directors.
