Nathan Deming

I am a filmmaker from Wisconsin, currently based in Los Angeles. I studied at the London Film School. My 2020 microbudget feature, "Speaking in Tongues", premiered at the Austin Film Festival and is available to watch on Amazon and Tubi. The 2014 short film on which it is based played at the Edinburgh Film Festival, the London Short Film Festival, and British Shorts Berlin. I have been a panelist at the Austin Film Festival and a guest lecturer at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, and I am a featured director on Shore Scripts.

My London Film School thesis, "Dog Days", premiered at the 2016 Premiers Plans D'Angiers Film Festival and went on to over a dozen festivals in the US and Europe.

I am focused on making high-quality narrative shorts and features. My style is a mix of my influences, both European and American in approach. Besides my feature work, I am also working on a multi-year short film project called "The Year Project" about small town life in Wisconsin. My most recent film, "February", just won a Golden Badger at the 2024 Wisconsin Film Festival.
