Third Option
(
Film (short)
by Foundry 10/ Anjini Taneja Azhar
Director “Third Option” is a story about a young girl submerged in the dark world of an eating disorder. The film is an exploration of the girl, Ellie’s, battle. With the intent of creating a world that mirrored the unease and worry of the subject at hand, the short flows with dark tones and slow, twisted camera movements. A story where unease is then was cured with hope.
Since its fruition, “Third Option” has been officially selected for film festivals across the country such as the SOHO International Film Festival in New York City, where Anjini was the youngest director at the 2018 festival, and won awards such as the Award of Merit (U.S. Best Shorts) at the IndieFest Film Awards in California. The film was also shown in classes across the USA when educating on eating disorders to high school students.
