Callie was born in Saigon, Vietnam. Her family fled the country just days before the collapse of the South, and began their long journey to America. They settled in San Jose, California, where, back before it was called “bingeing,” Callie had an insatiable appetite for Saturday morning cartoons, Gilligan’s Island reruns and corny family sitcoms with catchy theme songs. She moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA’s prestigious film school, and after graduating Dean’s List from the School of Theater, Film and Television, she began her career in script development. She eventually found her way to the studios as a content producer, first at Twentieth Century Fox, and now at The Walt Disney Company.
As an independent filmmaker, Callie has written one and produced two award-winning shorts, and has produced two feature films and has co-written several feature screenplays and one TV pilot with her husband Richard Zelniker.
Callie is repped by Lanette Mastandrea at Sovereign Talent Group.
