About Allison

Author, Screenwriter, Publisher and Educator, Allison Bruning has always had a passion for the literary arts. She originally hails from Marion, Ohio but lives in Marfa, Texas with her husband and their Australian Cattle Dog, Lakota Sioux.

Allison owns Big Bend Productions. Big Bend Productions is the parent company of Marfa House (publishing), Lost Mine Films (independent film), Boquillas' Window (graphic design) and Castolon Studios (photography).

Allison is the author of several historical fiction novels, shorts and poems. She loves to write history in the voices of those whose stories were rarely told.

Allison's educational background includes a BA in Theatre Arts with a minor in Anthropology, a MFA in Creative Writing and is currently working on her Ph.D in Education. She also holds a EC-4 Texas Teaching Certificate.

Allison's honors include admission into the All American Scholars, Who's Who Among America's Educators, Course Directors Award and the Girl Scout Silver and Gold Awards.

She is an educator, writer, speaker, screenwriter, film director, and publisher.

Allison's interests include Ohio Valley history, anthropology, travel, culture, history, camping, hiking, backpacking, spending time with her family, and genealogy.
