Zacharie Turofsky

I call myself a 'New - Experimental Director/DOP'. My passion is Directing, and Acting. Im not just one of those people my age who says it as some Dream that they all want because they see others do it. It has always been a part of me that I am committed to fully and even though I dont have a fully made short due to difficulties every time, I have stuck through-and-through.

I have my own small Home-Based Production Company called: Slik Studios
Its the name I put on all the work I do as well as my full name.

Quick Summary: Budding Director trying to start in the film and television industry in the future directing. I like making short films. I am also an avid actor who would also like to take part in being in other peoples short films, or auditioning for anything else. I do occasionally audition for theatrical performances but I prefer screen-plays.

Although young I try and increase my potential everyday. I strive to learn new things ranging from learning about human resources to help communicate with all types of people to how to compose a certain type of shot. I'd say that Directing has been a passion of mine since I was at least 8 years old when I got bought a digital camera and was fiddling around with everything.

Being the self-confident person I am believe that I have a strong imagination and have a really good creative sense. BUT Heres the Catch: I cannot start to write a script or come up with an idea for a short film. If somebody gives me a basis of a story or a written script I can tweak and play to my hearts content, but I can never make something from scratch and I think that is really going to affect me in the future.

Due to whats written above means that I am really looking for writers and actors who dont mind a 'New - Experimental Director/DOP' to work on a short film with them. Obviously as I am Sixteen the production will be low-budget unless we were funded from another source. This would help me build up my show-reel and improve my skills so I could become better adapted to what is actually involved in a production. I would also like to work with other more experienced directors who have been doing this a lot longer than me so they can teach me what is involved and I can see what actually goes on behind the camera.

Most of the time I try and do work of my own, my actors (who up to this point have been my friends) aren't very committed which means they may not show up on a shooting day or learn lines. Also my crew who are usually pretty good (but again my friends) so they have no experience in operating any of the equipment or how to compose a shot, so it can end up looking tacky and in-turn without passing any blame giving me a terribly shot short-film.
