About Jacob

Jacob is an award-winning director and cinematographer driven by character-focused stories and compelling imagery with a passion to connect to audiences. Studying music and working as a musician, Jacob began to fall in love with the art of story telling and connecting to an audience.

After working as a cinematographer on several indie features, Jacob founded LUMINARY. A creative group of collaborators focusing on commercials and brand films for clients including:

Jacob enjoys working with clients who have a desire and passion to create content that inspires and moves the viewer. While Jacob mostly works in the commercial market, he aspires to return to feature film production in the future.

“I have sat in theaters, auditoriums, concert halls and living rooms and experienced moments in which people feel joy, sorrow, hope, and adventure through the magic of film and video. On these occasions, I am inspired by the connection we have with one another and the stories that make up this epic journey we call life. As an artist who uses motion pictures as a medium, I desire to create pieces that allow people to escape for a few hours, a half hour, a moment . . . and observe worlds filled with stories and relationships, fantasy and reality, failure and success, hope and despair—all in effort to cause one to experience, or consider something that maybe they haven't before. A moment of connection. I hope that I have the opportunity to create one of those moments for you.”
