Mike Sheppard

I'm a professional composer with credits in TV, advertising, shorts and features – from children’s TV (Brum for BBC) to TV Drama (Marple / Poirot for LWT / Granada); from advertising (Sony PlayStation 3) to film music in a range of shorts and independent features (Bill of Mortality / Saving Lives). I can create electronic scores in my studio or work with live musicians — from one or two soloists right up to full symphony orchestra if the budget allows.

I'm also a working composer in new music: in 2011 the BBC Concert Orchestra made my works the centrepiece of a live broadcast concert that featured a 20 minute interview with me in the interval. That interview can be heard on the Concert Music page on my website.

As well as my media and concert music, I also compose for the theatre. I am part of a three-man team that has just finished 'Ivanhoe — the Musical', a new stage show and film based on Sir Walter Scott's classic English tale of knights in armour and damsels in distress.
