My name is Ricarda Clay, I am based in London, UK. I am a british mixed race trained professional actress & dancer.
I have a BA degree in performing arts. Since graduating in 2012, I have had experience working in the industry, having lead, featured and SA roles in projects such as Commercials, music videos, feature films, short films, photographic stills and more. I am listed on Spotlight and a member of the Actors Guild UK, where you need verified professional credits to qualify. My ambition is to become more established in the uk before moving to the USA.
As an actress, I am classically trained for theatre/stage, I have studied techniques for film & TV, recently attended workshops with casting directors Peter Hunt and Shakyra Dowling. I have a unique versatility & as I have a naturally young looking, youthful face this gives me a wider playing range. I tend to get cast or audition for the playing age of 16-28, for love interest/girl-next-door, younger/ naive sister, feisty girlfriend, misunderstood badass, sexy temptress, ‘mean girl’/ bitchy bully roles. I’m not afraid to be seen as darker or mysterious either. I am always up for a challenge, pushing myself out of my comfort zone to avoid being type cast.
As a dancer, I started dancing from the age of 3 being classically trained in Ballet, after taking a break from dance while in secondary school. I regained my love and passion for dance in college where I mainly learnt Contemporary, Tap styles as well as physical theatre. From college and throughout university I have studied other styles such as Jazz & Street Jazz, Modern, Hip Hop/Street, House, Funk, Popping & Locking, Krumping, African, Dancehall/Reggaeton, Soca, Commercial, Waacking/Vogueing. I still keep up with my dance training as I attend Advanced/professional level classes at Pineapple dance studios, Base studios, & Danceworks studios.
Ive been involved in 70+ Music Videos (for: Angel, Lethal B & Donaeo, Wiley & Chip, Stylo G, Kano & Benga, Jessie J & Robin Thicke, Ms Dynamite & DJ Fresh, Roll Deep, Subfocus, Union J, Devlin, Madeon & more); TV/Commercials (Superdrug, PS4, Levi Jeans, HSBC, Quadcomm, SkyOne, MTV); Feature/short films ('Thee Recluse Trilogy', 'Bridget Jones's Baby', 'Night of the Museum 3', 'Life Sentence', 'Its A Lot') etc.
Due to my experience and skills, I am hardworking, energetic, positive, enthusiastic & constructive. I work well under pressure, as part of a team/ collaboration & individually. Ive a strong sense of professionalism, focus, dedication.
I joined Stage 32 as I believe it is not always what you know but more of who you know and who knows you. Its always great to connect and network with fellow creatives, actors and dancers as well as getting the chance to collaborate too. There is no downside to expanding the circle of connections within the industry, as I believe it is not always what you know but more importantly about who you know & who knows you.
Currently looking into new/additional representation ideally from UK agents with strong connections to the USA, who would help to act as sponsor regarding the 01 visa.
Any help or suggestions on agents/agenies that match are welcome and greatly appreciated.
Look forward to getting to know more creatives in the industry. Please feel free to connect with me via social media too, actual links are in the links section.
