Ishmael Blue

Ishmael Blue is always striving to be a well-rounded, renaissance individual. He has stable roots and he is set to make his mark in the entertainment industry. At 28 years of age, his determination takes him beyond the typical model.

Ishmael pursued modeling throughout high school and was a sought after talent in the Jacksonville area. After graduating, he served four years in the United States’ Armed Forces. After completing his tour, Ishmael decided to continue with modeling while adding acting to his resume. He participates in numerous runway shows, ad campaigns and print assignments. Acting is slowly becoming his first love.

Ishmael has had feature roles in four films. County Road 14 was his first independent film project, where he portrayed the role of Larry Upton. This character was the boyfriend of the daughter of the deputy. This role allowed him to gain experience acting in an independent film. Two of his film roles have been short-form student projects.

In 2007, Ishmael was featured in the Nashville based and Gotee national recording artists, GRITS music video, ‘Open Bar’. This is the first video for the group’s recently released album, Redemption. This video premiered on MTV, VH1 and BET. In 2008, Ishmael landed his first major commercial/campaign ad with ClearTalk Wireless making him the spokes model for the northeastern region.

Most recently, Ishmael has been cast in the forthcoming independent film entitled “Treacherous” the winner of the 2010 San Francisco Black Film Festival. This project will be released regionally. This project will allow him to be exposed to a larger audience. To add to his impressive credentials, in 2008 Ishmael made his first theatrical stage debut in Darryl Reuben Hall’s production of “Frathouse, Dreamgirls, & Reality Check”. Being apart of those productions was a major stepping stone for the talented actor/model which ultimately led Ishmael to be cast in Numerous stage plays such as the Limelight theatre’s “Intimate Apparel” & the Hilarious Gospel play of “God is Cleaning House” Directed and Produced By Zerrick Jones.
