Joanne Bellew is an Australian multi-award-winning mother of two who writes in the drama, comedy, and romantic comedy space. She believes there is an unlikely or untapped hero in everyone and enjoys writing everyday stories of characters working through their brave and sometimes comedic paths to enlightenment.
Her romantic comedy feature 'Mojo' reached Semi-Finalist at the 2023 Austin Film Festival.
Her 2023 Page Award Silver Winner 'Un Violon' sits at Top 1% on Coverfly and reached #1 on Coverfly's 2023 Annual Red List for Family Shorts, as well as Finalist in the Roadmap Writers 2023 Shorts Competition. Her 2024 drama short 'You Cannot Sweep The Moon' reached #2 in the June 2024 Red List for Family Shorts.
Joanne's drama feature 'The Bracelets' made Top 10 in the 2021 Final Draft Big Break and her latest heartfelt comedy feature 'Once Upon A Christmas In Hollyville' reached Semi-Finalist in the 2024 Page Awards, Coverfly's Red List for Faith Based scripts and made the Top 20 of Faith based scripts listed on Coverfly for 2024. 'Once Upon a Christmas in Hollyville' is a rewrite of Joanne's edgier comedy feature Rudy's Christmas Revenge' which made the Blacklist's Top List multiple times and won various faith and comedy competitions.
