About Richard

RICHARD H. PERRY is a Los Angeles based writer and director cultivating a fresh take on genre film. His debut feature, WILD CARDS (2016) a revenge action comedy about young card sharks, was shot in Beijing earlier this year. A Chinese web production, it premiered August 28 on video platform, , and quickly garnered over 11 million views.

In 2015 Richard wrote and directed an adaptation of Sherwood Anderson’s Winesburg, Ohio for Rabbit Bandini and Maker Studios. The resulting short film, RESPECTABILITY (2015), helped launch the JamesFrancoTV youtube channel. Next, Richard wrote a gritty action feature for Rabbit Bandini which was filmed in Dallas, KILL THE CZAR (2017). Currently, Richard is adapting and directing a Jack Kerouac book and preparing to direct THE COAST, a post apocalyptic feature set on Curaçao.

Richard studied painting at the University of North Texas and finished a MFA in directing at UCLA in 2015. An Edie & Lew Wasserman Fellow, he has received awards from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the Jim Morrison Memorial Fund and the Motion Picture Association of America. Raised in rural Texas, Richard has worked in film & TV in the art department since 2004. Married, Richard lives close to the beach with his wife and daughter.
