I retired from the US Coast Guard following a 23 year career where I flew search and rescue helicopters for 13 years, and worked in international affairs for eight years. I finished my career as the Senior Defense Official in Costa Rica where we stopped a lot of cocaine shipments moving north. We empowered the local security services, providing them training, capabilities and conducted joint operations. This became the genesis of Pressure Point, and helped ignite my new found passion for writing scripts. Before picking up screenwriting, I wrote for a helicopter magazine, Vertical for 13 years, covering some incredible stories.
My first screenplay, "Pressure Point," is based on real life stories pulled together with a fictional plot to show the immense trafficking of cocaine in the Eastern Pacific, and the U.S. Coast Guard’s role in fighting the drug war on the water. Massive amounts of cocaine ship every day from Colombia northward, making its way through all of Central America and Mexico to the United States. The U.S. Coast Guard pulls in more cocaine than all of the other agencies combined.
