Maritsa A. Flaherty

Once a Tisch School of the Arts student, now criminal prosecutor, Flaherty didn't take her friend's advice when he told her to promise "to never BE a lawyer, and only play one on TV." She was written out of a PSA once, because she couldn't work the cash register. But she didn't let that stop her. Believing in the power of three, she's working on her third degree, this one a MFA (and it's not just for the initials).

Actor or not, she's always loved writing. Her current portfolio consists of: a short, a feature, and a TV pilot. With too many ideas, and too little time - she's ready to transition out of the courtroom and onto the set.

Flaherty's focused on writing more stories for complex female characters. With a love of film noir and crime flicks, she writes stories of people searching for light in this dark, dark world.
