Hey! My name is Hunter, and I'm a new screenwriter.

I have written and polished two screenplays so far, and I am working on more at the moment.

I have no experience in film mainly because I lack the connections to make my screenplays actually happen. I found this site and I am giving it a shot. I emailed loads of producers and film executives, but they either didn't respond or turned me down because they were "too busy." It seems like in order to become a successful screenwriter you need to have strong connections in the field, which I clearly don't have.

Hello fellow writers - I have a little question. In my new screenplay, I wanna write the following scene: the main character's explaining in a voice-over how small and unimportant his hometown is, all while a map of the country is being shown on screen, zooming in many times, until the name of the village appears and the main character's like "Yeah, here we are"... what would be the best way to phrase it in a screenplay? Help is very much appreciated, thanks already in advance!

I'm actually devastated right now, because from one day to another I felt like the main plot of my play/musical didn't fit anymore and so today I decided to re-write it. Thank God, I can keep some of the songs I composed - three years of hard work are not completely wasted. Has this happened to others around here, too? Have you thought "I cannot go on with this plot" while writing?

I've always been bad at introducing myself, but just bear with me. I'll try my best! So, my name is Sara. I'm 20 years old. I'm from Germany and I love writing. Off to a great start, right?

All of my writing is in English. This language just feels more natural to me.

When I was 14 and suffered my first "heartbreak" (a guy in 10th grade that I liked and never spoke to, graduated and I was devastated), I wanted to express myself, let go of all the pain and started to write short poems.

Becoming more and more fascinated by the lyricism and the melody of my writing, learning new words and expressions, I suddenly knew that this was what I should do in my life - writing.

Over the past few years (and my first REAL heartbreaks), I've went from writing poems to songs. From short stories to longer books. And eventual from this to writing screenplays.

Right now, I'm working on a screenplay for a movie, for a miniseries and a musical as well.

There are still so many things I need to learn and I know that I'm not the first one to say "I'm gonna make it!" It's still the passion and the thrill of looking at your small ideas unfold in front of you that keep pushing me. So, no matter how many times I fail, I'll get up and try again.
