I have recently produced and directed the feature-length documentary Under the Great Oak, about the cutting down of America's oldest white oak tree. Our film focuses on the universal and uniting need to respect and protect our natural environment and how taking action on a local/regional level creates community. What I love about documentary work is the connection between art and social impact.
I am also a screenwriter, focusing on feature-length thrillers. My current script, Kingdom of Shadows, received recommends for writer and screenplay from a professional coverage service and is placing well in competitions. The story connects the birth of cinema with the occult arts, both life-long interests of mine.
I'm also interested in film theory and history and look forward to teaching film at the college level in the near future.
I am a member of the International Documentary Association and Domitor: The International Society for the Study of Early Cinema.
