About Davide

Davide Tammaro is an Italian award-winning composer for media and concert music.
His composition, String Quartet No.1, won the 2019 Premio Musica Nova - International Composition Competition that saw Oscar winner, Ennio Morricone, as the President of the Jury.
Davide’s concert music has been performed in Italy and the USA by Quartetto Indaco, Ensemble +47, Pentarte Ensemble and the Grammy nominated North South Chamber Orchestra of New York.
His composition Luce, for violin and cello, was selected at the 2019 HighScore Festival in Pavia, Italy.
The KLK String Orchestra of Lviv (Ukraine), will perform Davide’ work for Strings, Nautilus, at the end of March 2020. The piece was selected as finalist for the “Musica per archi 2020” composition competition.
As a freelance composer based in New York City, Davide divides his time between concert music and music for media.
As a guitarist, Davide collaborated with many artists in the US and Europe performing at festivals such as SXSW in Austin, TX and Americanafest in Nashville, TN among many others. He toured extensively across the US and shared the stage with harmonica player, Grammy Award winner, John Popper.
In 2015, Davide released “Ghosts”, a funk-jazz album including 9 original compositions featuring some of the best musicians from the contemporary NY music scene.
Davide studied Classical Guitar at the San Pietro a Majella Music Conservatory, in Naples, Italy. He is also a graduate of Berklee College of Music where he studied performance and Composition for Film and TV.
