About Katie

Katie Garibaldi is an independent singer/songwriter/guitar player, screenwriter/director, and music supervisor.

Her music has been featured in Guitar Player magazine, Acoustic Guitar, The Boot, Elmore Magazine, Music Connection Magazine, The Daily Country, For Folk's Sake, and more. Accolades include various songwriting and production awards, as well as over 100 music video awards. John Apice of No Depression Magazine writes, “There is a special place in the music industry for songs like this and Katie Garibaldi – this is Grammy Award-winning stuff.”

Katie is no stranger to the film festival scene, thanks to the success of her award-winning music video “Delightful,” followed by international screenings and wins for her subsequent videos “Unhappy Holiday,” “Star in the East,” “Wonderful Mother Mary,” and more. She was invited to be a judge at the 2019 Jukebox International Film Festival in Carson City, NV—a festival that specializes in music-themed films, and has contributed articles to several blogs on music and music videos.

With the growth of a strong network in both the music and film industries, Katie is also leveraging her experience as an independent artist, production skills, and passion for creative storytelling in a music supervision role.

In 2020, she completed a sync summer school program, co-headed by sync licensing agent Mark Frieser and music supervisor Chris Mollere, which provided hands-on and how-to training on creative, legal, technological and practical aspects of music licensing and supervision. Continuing her education in film, Katie has also earned course certificates in both film directing and script supervision in 2021 from the Raindance intensive filmmaking programs.

Katie Garibaldi is active in the Guild of Music Supervisors as a Friend of the Guild, and is a Women In Film member and Recording Academy voting member.

In true multi-passionate artistic fashion, Katie also enjoys speaking and writing on the subjects of spirituality and creativity at her blog Creative Owlchemy. She is currently working on her first narrative short film, which is planned for a 2021 premiere.
