About Fred

Fred Fuster has been involved in the media as a producer, director, screenwriter, teacher and actor for over thirty years. His media credits include: "TURKEY TREASURE," as Creator/Actor. Kay Gardella wrote: "...wonderfully entertaining for the entire family..." An ABC TV film whose sequel "TO BE A MAN" received an EMMY AWARD: "STREET PERFORMERS IN NYC," as Producer/Director. A documentary capturing the street performers lives as they try to 'survive' in their world on the streets: "MOVIE MAGIC IN NEW YORK, " as producer/director/camera. An award winning documentary film on making movies in New York City with the help of Mayor Koch. "PRISONER OF HOPE," as producer/director/editor. A play with music shot in front of live audiences at Sing Sing Correctional Institute in Ossining, NY using inmates as actors. "THEY DON'T ONLY COME THROUGH WINDOWS," a one act play written by one of Mr. Fuster's students, which he directed/edited in his Equity theater in NY. He subsequently re-shot the project in LA; Fuster directed LIPPE at the Theatre Quad NYC, Starring Bill Hickey (Academy Award nominee PRIZZI'S HONOR,with Jack Nicholson)

In NY Mr. Fuster studied acting with Gene Frankel and Lee Strasberg as well as other private teachers. He has directed Loretta Switt, Bill Hickey, Cliff Robertson and many others. As an actor he has worked in productions of ZOO STORY, HELLO OUT THERE, THE CRUCIBLE, THE ANTHROPOLOGISTS, and in the films: "BORN TO WIN" (George Segal Prod's), "FIRST DEADLY SIN" (with Frank Sinatra), "THE MONEY PIT" (with Tom Hanks), etc. He created his own Repertory Company, SERAPHIM PRODUCTIONS in NYC where he directed, shot and edited dramatic material: SNOW ANGEL, THE CONFESSION, a funny satire plus many scenes for his students..

Fred Fuster received his MA from New York University in Media Communications. He was selected by Ossie Davis and Cliff Frazier to serve as Project Director for THE INSTITUTE OF NEW CINEMA ARTISTS under the umbrella of THIRD WORLD CINEMA PRODS., which produced its first film CLAUDINE (James Earl Jones). The million dollar a year federally funded program (HUD) trained minorities for "behind the scenes" positions in Allied Media (film, television etc.). In addition to hiring - firing staff and professional instructors from media, Mr. Fuster interfaced with executives from the allied media industries of film, television, radio and advertising to create associations that led to internships and jobs for his trainees

As teacher, Mr. Fuster has taught: Film Narrative/Screenwriting at the film department of NEW YORK UNIVERSITY (for Professor Joel Freedman, Executive Producer of "BRAlNSTORM") & “How To Direct Actors in Film” to student film directors; along with Acting at THE ACTORS INSTITUTE (TAI) in NY;
THE AMERICAN MUSICAL AND DRAMATIC ACADEMY (AMDA) in NY; and served as the Vice President and Artistic Director for THE MEDIA CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS (MCPA) at THE GENE FRANKEL THEATER in NY. The theater was funded by the New York Council For the Arts and The National Endowment for the Arts. Mr. Fuster taught the following: Directing, Writing & Acting. In addition as Artistic Director Mr. Fuster oversaw 12 Off Broadway productions each season for Theater Development Fund (TDF) of NYC including "The Lion Is Soul Brother" (by Joseph A. Walker, The River Niger) He created a film acting course entitled "ACTING NATURALLY".

As a screenwriter, Mr. Fuster has completed: "TWO COUNTS AT STAKE," a Dark Comedy (adapted from a novel) depicting the adventures of an institutionalized psychotic who believes he is Count Dracula; "DEA," an Action/Adventure story about a drug enforcement agent who is kidnapped by the drug cartel and taken to a jungle fortress; "NIGHT DRIVER," a Murder Mystery about a serial killer who drives a cab in NYC (a 35mm 7 minute teaser available); "SHADOWED DREAMS," a Suspense Thriller involving a vampire who is tried for murder; "lNCOGNITO,'' a Suspense/Drama, 'date rape' chronicle; "STREET OF DREAMS," an exciting Teen/Drama about a music group's climb to stardom from the streets, the "hood"--The Birth of Hip Hop on the West Coast (with CD Soundtrack); "THE MAGIC SHOES," a poignant 'rite of passage' story of a crippled boy's dream to play professional baseball; and “DISCIPLE," a psychological Vampire Thriller encompassing many periods in history and how they influence a group of vampires who have formed a brotherhood in NYC.

Mr. Fuster is Writer/Producer/Director on a youtube comedy series: Twin Factor. Season One consisting of Ten 2 minute Episodes/Webisodes can be seen at . He is also directing Music Videos for Madlyn Music (can be seen on YouTube).
