About Beth

I am a lifelong lover of storytelling through film. Costuming is in my blood, my grandmother dressed Claudette Colbert, among other stars in the ‘30’s when she worked for the Manhattan designer, Hattie Carnegie. I love working with like minded people in a collaborative effort to bring stories to life on the big and small screens and consider myself to be a true team player. I have formal training in History of Costume, Fabrics and Fibers, Color Applications, Cultural Aspects of Dress, and basic film courses. Expertise in Historical Costuming, handwork, needle crafts and Costuming as it relates to enhancing character development. Production Assistant, Script Supervisor, A.D., Location Scout, Contract Administration, Proofreading, Set Dresser and Wardrobe Supervisor are additional job titles and skill sets that I offer. Historical films, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, animation and steam punk are some of my favorite genres. Custom costuming, and unusual costume statements are some of my favorite challenges. Extraordinary attention to detail, organized, prompt, have a great work ethic, can do attitude and willing to go above and beyond for the best interest in the project are some other characteristics I share. I teach a costume workshop specifically addressing costume as it relates to character enhancement, mostly for actors but beneficial to all for understanding the role costume plays in moving a story line forward.
