About Sidy

Sidy Diop was born in Dakar, Senegal, in March 1975, and spent his formative years in the vibrant streets of New York City. At the age of 18, he embarked on a bold journey in the Bronx, where his curiosity and determination fueled his dreams. His early career began as a salesman in the bustling shops of Soho, NY, where he quickly gained recognition and transitioned into modeling.

Driven by an unwavering passion for storytelling, Sidy made the pivotal decision to dive into the acting world, studying at the prestigious Wiest Barron Acting School. There, he honed his craft under the guidance of renowned coaches like David Shuman and Batt Johnson, shaping his unique approach to performance.

Sidy’s career took a transformative turn when he relocated to Rome, Italy, where he flourished as a professional actor in theater and film. He captivated audiences with his portrayal of “Bernardino” in William Shakespeare’s Measure For Measure, directed by the acclaimed Gabriele Lavia. His on-screen debut followed as he portrayed “Dada” in La Vita È Una Cosa Meravigliosa.

Known for his compelling role as “Tokumbo” in Gomorrah the Series, Sidy has steadily built a diverse filmography, collaborating with various esteemed directors. With a rich tapestry of experiences, he remains dedicated to pursuing challenging roles that showcase his range as an actor.

Now, Sidy divides his time between Rome and Dakar, continuing to bring captivating characters to life on stage and screen.
