About Adam

Technically, my official title is Head Writer of MaW Mediaworks. My name is Adam Ristau, and I have extensive experience in the Arts and Entertainment industry, spanning back to when I was a wee youngling. MaW Mediaworks itself is an indie productions studio, based in Northeastern PA, which runs one original series named "Howitzer Tales,", and has plans to produce multiple short films in the future. Maw has been around since 2008, and although I'm one of the newer pieces to their puzzle, I've found it to be one of the most rewarding, wonderful places I have worked.

While my twenties have a great list of wonderful acting opportunities in my home towns Amateur Theater program, it's my thirties where I really hope to shine in a more professional environment. Being a father of two children made me re-evaluate myself in the past couple of years, and I've found that while I AM better off utilizing my extensive skills in the entertainment business, I cannot truly find it in myself to do these things for free anymore. I want my kids to grow up knowing me as a success, not having to want, and this has truly influenced and impacted my goals.

UPDATE: 4-3-2020

While the Covid-19 crisis exists, MaW has been on a near shutdown. I am fortunate to have my boss, the very talented Michael Gafner, as a roommate, so therefore there may be some new content on the way, but our main content, a series called "Howitzer Tales," is halted. Instead expect light hearted, lighter fare such as "In The Jailhouse," over the next couple of weeks.

  • Woman in the French Doors

Woman in the French Doors (2008)
Theater by Warren Historical Society Writer, Director, Producer Warren PA was a bustling community in the 1920's, and a staple of it's success was the metalworking industry, "Struthers Mills." This stage play was taken from the real life death of Alice Wetmore, who stepped out in front of a train one day. Some thought it was suicide, but there was a small group that suspected her husband J.P. Jefferson, the current owner of Struthers Mills, of murder. J.P, within a year of his wifes death, was on a world cruise, and married to his long time friend Mary Trunkey. On another note, My dear friend in the photograph took it upon herself to lay down in the viewing basket for the show. It was originally written that the casket be closed in the funeral scene, but since she was in it, well...why not show the people...Best.Ovation.Ever.
