Janice Malone – Short Bio


Janice Malone has worked as an entertainment reporter for print, radio, television and internet broadcasting. She formerly served as the entertainment editor for the Tennessee Tribune Newspaper in Nashville for many years. She is the host and producer of Film Festival Radio Show. Originally created in 2007, the show is one of Blog Talk Radio Network’s longest-running podcasts. The show covers indie films, filmmakers, festivals and celebrities from TV, film, and music. Film Festival Radio is now both a podcast and a radio show that airs on talk radio station in Las Vegas, NV
Ms. Malone is on the advisory board of the Bel Air Film Festival in Los Angeles, and the board of the Pocono Mountains Film Festival. Malone was first introduced to internet broadcasting in the mid-1990s by Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. At the time, Cuban and his business partner, Todd Wagner had a new storefront business, AudioNet, which was one of the early pioneers in doing live internet broadcasting. Cuban and Wagner gave Malone the first live internet show that led to her getting national publicity in Entertainment Weekly magazine, CNET television network and many others, along with having Microsoft sponsoring the show to air live from the Grammy Awards. In addition, she's also worked as a TV producer/reporter for an ABC affiliate in Texas and as a correspondent for BET television based in Texas.
Previous experience includes Host of 3 radio specials for Blog Talk Radio Network 2-hour specials sponsored by AT & T that had over 1 million listeners. She was a co-host of Talk of the Town, which aired on KLAV radio Las Vegas. Co-host of national radio special honoring Michael Jackson and was moderator/host for the Nashville premiere of the Oscar-winning documentary '20 Feet From Stardom.'
Other experience: reporter for the National Enquirer and The Globe tabloids, Worked as a weekly entertainment reporter for ABC Radio (Dallas, TX) and as an entertainment reporter for KGBS radio, in Dallas when it was a CNN affiliate. Ms. Malone was signed as a writer with the William Morris Agency (New York); United Colours Management (Melbourne, Australia) and The Fogelman Literary Agency (Dallas, TX). She has traveled on assignments internationally to various countries and has a bachelor’s degree in communications/journalism from Bishop College in Dallas, TX.
