Belarmino Ortega

I graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and a minor in Sociology. In creative writing I learned the skills of prose, screenwriting, and playwright. I am in the progress in writing a young adult novel and completed four short stories. Furthermore, I completed three 10-minutes plays. In screenwriting I have completed a spec script for a short film and a single camera half hour spec script. I have submitted to multiple literary journals for short stories and for spec script I have submitted to HollyShort Film. Although I have not accomplished in getting published or winning a competition I am still confident in pursuing a career in writing. Currently I am employ as a Campus Security Assistant at City University of New York. While I am not at work I am writing and reading. My favorite novels to read are contemporary young adult novels and reading scripts that relate to the topics I write such as "Vida" and "The Wire"
