About Tony

Tony Jonick, writer, director, producer, and character actor, was born in Honolulu, Hawai'i and raised in the Fiji Islands, and Sydney, Australia before moving to the U.S. After 20+ years in publishing and graphics, he took a job with Apple, where he began to make short movies for internal use.

He made his first short, Jump Cut, in 2012 with two actor friends and a camera. In 2013 he joined the Scary Cow film co-op in San Francisco, where he has worked with other members on countless films. He has directed and written several short films and music videos, including the award winning Grandmama TlzĂ©deczkanĂ¼ Comes to America (2015), and The Ghosts of Highway 20 (2017), which has shown at San Diego Comic Con & the World Science Fiction con. He is also a location sound recordist, unit stills photographer, and graphic designer.

He has acted in several films, including Memento Mori (2017), E.Z.P.Z. (2016), and Ghost in the Gun (2019). He is a published author, poet, and children's playwright. He lives in Oakland, CA where he and his wife help at Children's Fairyland.

Unique traits: Some wind instruments, some juggling. Graphic designer and layout artist. Ran business for over 20 years, and can squeeze a dime hard.
