A savvy Hollywood producer, a Canadian entrepreneur, and a charismatic Black activist become embroiled in a phony American revolution, only to see the protest movement go viral and their lives spiral out of control.

Synopsis: In 2016, Canadian entrepreneur, Dane Harper hit it big when he created the lucrative Right Wing conspiracy blog, Truth Serum. Shortly after the election and Russian meddling fallout, social media sites started cracking down on fake news outlets and Truth Serum hit rock bottom. With no money and a dying fake news business, Dane was forced to move back into his childhood home with his eccentric loser brother, Billy, and their cancer stricken mother, Ruth. Broke and faced with crushing debt, the Harper Brothers needed a change.

Meanwhile in America, a young, charismatic Black activist named Neiko Brown struggles to find a way out of his South LA neighborhood. After witnessing two police officers shoot and kill an unarmed Black homeless man outside his apartment, Neiko deals with the traumatic event by tagging billboards and police cars around the city asking questions about the incident.

Across town in Hollywood, the savvy and highly successful movie producer, Gordy Roberts is looking for his next project while simultaneously dealing with an existential crisis. After joining a mentorship program, Gordy becomes Neiko’s official life mentor after learning that Neiko was brought up in the foster care system, a common bond they both share.

Back in Canada, Billy convinces his brother to “flip the script” with Truth Serum. Together, they invent The C.O.G. Movement, (Casualties of Government) a fake political movement with a fictitious progressive leader named, Remo-D. (Remedy.) When Remo-D’s call to action protest goes viral, the Harper Brother’s life is unexpectedly turned upside down as their fake political revolution takes America’s youth by storm.

After becoming infatuated with the C.O.G. Movement, Gordy convinces the desperate Harper Brothers to make him the co-editor of Truth Serum. In an effort to protect and legitimize the movement, Gordy recruits his protege, Neiko to become the face of the movement by playing the real life role of fictitious leader, Remo-D. Relentless FBI agents, deceitful reporters, and corrupt Senators are just a few of the many adversaries trying to take down the movement. Many even want to see Remo-D dead. Against insurmountable odds, team Truth Serum will attempt the most challenging endeavor of their lives; protecting the truth behind a powerful political movement taking the world by storm...and taking on a life of its own.
