Iman Rose Louis-Jeune (she/her/hers) is an interdisciplinary artist from Brooklyn, NY.
Her work is inspired by science fiction, current events, and familial relationships . Through movement, lens-based media, design and production she is focused on creating dance films, writing scripts, creative producing, photo prints, and design work exploring mental health, racial inequities, and her diverse cultural upbringing.
Since 2015, she has worked roughly 70 to 200 events a year as a video editor, graphic designer, technical director, & lighting designer specifically for groups that she believes make an impact on their communities, some of which include: Owning Dissonance Collective, a multi-generational, multi-racial group centered around processing trauma while also giving tools for self-care to the audience & participants; worked with Everlasting Time, a small publishing company that is working on a letter exchange campaign for political prisoners: bit.ly/time-letters ; Agoci! A Haitian Dance Company based in NY, among others.
Film to me, encapsulates all of my interests of dance, writing, storytelling, photography & animation and allows me to speak on many different subject matters. I am actively looking to make & participate in work that is more cathartic rather than escapist.
