Mary Spiers is a screenwriter, novelist, script consultant, and clinical neuropsychologist. She won the Greater Philadelphia Film Office’s Set in Philadelphia screenwriting award for her time travel feature. Currently, she is adapting two of her screenplays into middle grades novels. She has a desire to promote stories spotlighting girls/women and groups of people who may not often see themselves in film and television.
As a clinical neuropsychologist Mary has worked with people with a variety of neurological disorders. She developed the website NeuroPsyFi
to review how neurological differences and disorders are portrayed in feature film. She has also been a “brain science” consultant to film-makers through the National Science Foundation’s Science and Entertainment Exchange.
She is a member of the Philadelphia Women in Film and Television (PWIFT) and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
