Ruthie Marantz is an award-winning writer and director who was born and raised in New York City. Her work has been screened in numerous festivals including SXSW, Seattle International Film Festival, and BamCinemaFEST. Her autobiographical pilot "Rainbow Ruthie" was Academy Award eligible in 2020. "Rainbow Ruthie" is supported by IFP, and Spike Lee chose Marantz as a recipient of the Sandra Ifraimova Grant for the pilot. Ruthie earned an MFA in directing & writing film and television from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She is currently in development with her first series"Rainbow Ruthie," which is being developed with Big Swing Productions (Kyra Sedgwick) and producer Ryan Cunningham ("Inside Amy Schumer," "Broad City"). Her new show "Southfield Supernovas 4228," co-created by Sophie Finkelstein, won the SXSW 2020 Pitch-A-Thon.
