ABOUT
The sandy shores of Paternoster set the stage for Deidre's love for filmmaking when she was the production accountant on the indie film, Forgiveness (2004). Deidre has since co-written and produced a number of short films, she is head-writer on a series in development and recently completed writing her first feature film with NFVF funding.
Seeking talent development opportunities within film and the wider creative industry, this Durban-born creative entrepreneur founded Reel Partners in 2016, now a registered non-profit company. Working as CEO of Reel Partners NPC and as Creative Imaginist at Beyond Reel Entertainment, Deidre intentionally surrounds herself with storytellers.
Deidre shares elbow grease with fellow-filmmaker Karabo Likhethe, multi-disciplined creative husband Steve Rosenberg and other like-minded professional filmmakers who enjoy nurturing emerging talent and demonstrate a commitment to job creation and meaningful social impact.
Deidre is currently facilitating the final stages of a specialized writer skills program in partnership with SA Film Academy, the MICT SETA and DHET, and continues writing on her next project with producer, Zulfa Arendse.

FILMMAKER’S STATEMENT
I write. I produce. I direct. Mostly, I love the power of collaborative storytelling. Filmmaking is an extension of who I am and how I see the world around me with all its idiosyncrasy, serendipity, sorrow and hope. I want to create films that make us think, make us feel and that resonate long after we’ve watched them.
