David Chevers is a South African born actor, singer, songwriter. He grew up in Pretoria honing his acting and musical skills from a very young age where great joy was found in weekly piano lessons from the age 8 years as well as in extra mural dramatic activities. After specialising in Drama for 5 years at high school, David took a giant leap of faith into the South African entertainment world.
His theatrical credits include playing Brad Majors in The Rocky Horror Show, Rolf in The Sound Of Music, The Arbiter in Chess, Jonathan Harker in Dracula and Sun City’s Let There Be Rock where he was featured as a lead vocalist for over a year.
Other show credits include playing Tosher in Fings ain’t wot they used to be for the Joburg Theatre where he reappeared later to play the lead of John Kelly in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Ben Elton’s The Boys In The Photograph. He received a Naledi Award Nomination for this role.
Television credits include playing Bobby on South african soap/medical drama Binnelanders as well as presenting for the learning channels Jungle Cafe.
David discovered Europe, or rather Sweden, for the very first time thanks to the Cape Town Operas production of Showboat which also saw him play the lead role of Steve Baker at The Chatalet in Paris, France.
In Europe David has immersed himself in the rich histories and inspirations and found home in Barcelona, Spain. He performs with The Barcelona Improv Group and is currently working on his debut ep.
