Daniel Lee Klintworth

Daniel Klintworth is an American musician, conductor, composer, arranger, orchestrator and singer who has spent the majority of his professional career working in the world of musical theatre.

Born and raised in Florida, Daniel's parents encouraged him in his musical endeavors, beginning with piano lessons at age six. At age twelve he added flute and at age fourteen began exploring musical composition. Under the watchful eye of Dr. Kari Juusela (Berklee College of Music, Boston), he carefully honed his skills as a budding composer.

While studying at Eastern Florida State College, Daniel entered the world of theatre as a pianist at The Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse. A year later, at the age of twenty, he was given the opportunity to act as music director for his first show, Rodgers and Hammerstein's "A Grand Night For Singing". It wasn't long before Daniel quickly became one of the staff music directors and conductors as well as the first call pianist. During a nearly eight year tenure at the playhouse, he had the pleasure of music directing many shows including "EVITA", "JEKYLL & HYDE", "SWEENEY TODD", and the World Premiere production of Tony Macaulay's "Sherlock in Love: A New Musical", for which he also served as arranger, orchestrator and composer (incidental music).

While working at The Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse in 2009, Daniel was hired on as a rehearsal pianist and the Key 3 player for the World Premiere of Frank Wildhorn's "Wonderland: A New Musical" at the Straz Center in Tampa. Less than a year later, he became the first call local keyboard hire for national tours in both Tampa and Orlando.

In early 2012, the national tour of "Billy Elliot: The Musical" had an opening for the Associate Conductor/Key 2 position. Known to the tour from subbing in as a rehearsal pianist a year prior, Daniel was offered the job and happily accepted. He held that position until June of 2013 when the tour closed in Hartford, CT.

In the summer of 2014, while working on a regional production of "Billy Elliot" in Ogunquit, Maine, Daniel received the call that would literally change his life. That call was an offer to become a vacation sub for the 2nd National Tour of "The Book of Mormon". Eventually that position lead to an offer to come onboard the 1st National Tour as Associate MD/Key 2 for it's final five months on the road and then to the permanent position of Associate MD/Key 2 on the 2nd National Tour, which he held until the tour closed in March of 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Aside of his work on "Mormon", Daniel is also involved with the development of a new musical, "Brad Knows Nothing", on which he serves as arranger, orchestrator and as a music producer. He's also currently acting as a composer and the orchestrator/arranger for several upcoming podcasts.

Outside of the music world, he is a huge nerd and loves Harry Potter, Star Wars and Lord of The Rings. And cats.
