What to do with it once you make it?
I'm an emerging writer and I work a full time job. Writing is my passion and my goal is to one day work full time as a Writer. I'm working towards that. If you're like me, how do you manage to do both? What motivates you? On your bad days at work when you feel like quitting, but can't cause you need the job, how do you not let that get to you?
Of course there's no intention to be sexist but, if I've somehow been as such, I apologise.
I wear a headset for a living. If thats not fecking motivation nothing is.

Expand commentWow its popping off up in here lol Hi Simangele, I'm in the same boat, I'm a bus driver and I've got children so it's hard trying to find the time to write or create, so a few things I do is commit to getting less sleep, 6 hours or less instead of the hateful 8, also physically exercise is proven to improve mental performance, also i bulk cook to free up more time, meaning I'll cook my meals for the entire week, it gets a bit boring eating the same meal all week but I'm a good cook so it's not all bad. I like the idea of writing at least a page per day before work so I might incorporate that into my routine.
I hope this helps you and I hope we can both turn our dream jobs into our day jobs.
Beth thanks for the tip about making the time, make it routine.

Kari I'm going to make this one of my affirmations to turn my dream job into a day job
Personally i find this whole notion of "motivation" a bit absurd....as if there's some magical dust that'll make you wanna do something you claim to love. Either love it and get it done or love the image and just talk about it.
Hi everyone, I'm looking to fund projects. Any films worth investing in?
I have Boy Blue ready to view, I put the budget at 5 to 10 million, but it could be lower. I am open to changes with the story and my focus is getting it made.
Hi Nicholas. Find me via alex@balassa.tv If you would be interested in a Love Romantic Comedy Feature that takes place in Hungary and Chile in 1975.

Expand commentCheck out my Kickstarter it’s expired, but shooting this thing soon and need to pay for day rates of a professional Sony DP. I paused production it was supposed to be starting on 03-20-2021. Slight symptoms awaiting my covid test. When I’m clear we can get a majority of the film done the smart way. It’s a good deal I’m getting but still kinda outta my league. I through the woodwork almost had the Jabbawockeez attached and ready to provide $100,000. The show still goes on with out the equity. I would love to tell you more. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hereiamimjean-frank/i-do-not-do-drugs

Three outcast tweeners must discover Magic's dark history to stop a vengeful witch from kidnapping their friend.
A vaudevillian trio of cosmic Ancients takes over America in a manhunt for a dark god on the loose who gets VERY angry when he's not drinking.
John - I see I liked "Winner Takes Dad" 3 years ago, and I still like it now. That suggests to me that there's real potential in the concept.

The Animated Series, a globally influenced/centric superhero adventure project (think the original Teen Titans series with a more inclusive character set). I've pitched a Kidscreen and came really close to a co-pro a couple years ago. We have a really exciting trailer (which I won't post here as per rules) which was produced by Echo Bridge Studios down in Florida and we're ready to get back on the pitch circuit. Thanks for your time everyone and I'd love to hear from you! Oh look here's some artwork!

Also, you should totally post your link on your profile and in the Your Stage Lounge! https://www.stage32.com/lounge/promotion Technically, you can share links in the topic lounges so long as it leads to a bigger conversation than "what do you think?" or "look at what I did!" LOL!

The funny thing is that I avoided doing a comic for awhile but I'm in the middle of production of our 1st issue now. I am thinking Netflix (I mean who isn't?) . Mainly because they are not entangled with a superhero IP of their own, a'la Disney/Marvel or HBO/DC.. I'll post the trailer in my profile and the Your Stage Longe. Hope you get a chance to look at it. I think you'd like it.
I mean, we all know the ways that a documentary is "staged"... so how do you make it animated? The only example coming to mind is What the Bleep Do We Know? which uses animation to help visualize the scientific explanation that is being given from interviewees. Does anyone have any other examples?

Wow, Paul Thomas - that is a powerful use of animation! It really makes the pacing more frantic and really echoes the disconnect from reality. Neat idea!

Sometimes I feel good like I've done so much and other times like I ain't done enough.
Especially as a bus driver, I barely have free time and then it has to be divided up into exercise, chores, kids etc..but still, I've been able to make a documentary a web series and a short film.
I'm passionate about telling stories and I cant stop even if I tried. What I've learnt is that small steps lead to giant leaps, so even if all I've done this week is record some audio, or animate a scene, or edit a scene then at least I did what i could.
I also realise I'm getting bored scrolling through Instagram and youtube these days, I've watched everything on Netflix and NOWTV already so half the time I would normally spend doing that stuff, I now spend networking or writing or something, anything that's gonna take me further away from my day job to my day dream job.
If your inspired by this then I'm happy to be a part of that positive energy transfer, if this challenges you to step your game up then I'm happy to be a part of that chemical reaction,
If your ahead of me and you already live this, then I'm happy to be a cog in the machine.
Feel free to message me, swap stories or partner up!
Kai.
I love your positive energy and wish you the best, Kai! Sometimes when I need to think through a creative problem, I'll take a long drive and just let it live in my subconscious. Maybe your bus routes are getting your creative juices going!

Good luck with all this amazing proactive stuff you're doing with film making. Really inspiring hearing what you had to say and made me feel so humbled that I've not been as active in developing my own dreams when I believe I have a lot more time to do just that. Shameful.
Thanks for the positive kick!

Hey Sara and thanks it's good to be appreciated, I've been working right through both lockdowns and so far so safe. Don't be too hard on yourself though because finding motivation and inspiration in the middle of a pandemic isn't the easiest thing to do but today when I woke up, instead of criticising myself I did the opposite and looked at what I have accomplished not what I haven't.
Nice one Thomas I hear you
Especially in times like this, the world needs entertainment and escapism so I feel like we providing a public service.
Congratulations! Hey, a win is a win.
