About Tanya

My name is Tanya Hilson, and to simply put it, I love the joy of storytelling and writing. My passion for writing started at a young age and has stayed with me throughout my life, but I would never have thought in a million years that I'd be writing screenplays, stage plays, television pilots, or children's books due to my dyslexia. I like to write because it humbles me within, and it's therapeutic to me. Sharing my stories with others brings me joy.

I'm a mother of two children and a new grandmother to a beautiful granddaughter. A passionate humanitarian to my core, I also run a nonprofit organization called WeLiveOn2, which supports low-income families by teaching them computer literacy and job readiness skills, as well as helping those who have been previously incarcerated obtain employment.

I've written several books, including Back Porch Neighbors, Back Porch Secrets, Ruby's Diner, Human Collateral, Shadow Eyes, Shadow Eyes 2, Where’s my Child, John's Hidden Truth, and My Cousin Sue.

I love spending quality time with family, loved ones, and friends outside of work and writing. I also enjoy cooking, playing cards, watching movies, and playing video games. If I put a smile on someone's face after they have read my books or listened to my audibles, all I can say is, job well done!
