About Amanda

Amanda Muse is a composer based in Los Angeles, California. Her music blends lush orchestration and rich classical harmony with driving rhythms informed by her extensive background as an internationally-recognized percussionist. She has worked on short films such as “Penguino Royale'' by director Ewan McNeil and “Journalism 101” directed by Michael Lopez, which won “Best Student Film” at the 2022 Festigious Film Festival and “Best TV Pilot” at the 2022 Top Shorts Film Festival. Most recently, she composed the theme to Western Carolina University’s “Western Wednesdays'' alumni podcast.

Amanda is a producer and in-house demo composer at the industry-leading virtual instrument company Cinesamples Inc., for which she has traveled the world to capture the sound of authentic instruments and recorded at major Los Angeles-based scoring stages Fox, Sony, and Warner Bros. She has been a session musician for Cinesamples Inc., Dreamworks and Riot Games.

Amanda was a percussionist at the Universal Studios theme park in her hometown of Orlando, Florida for 3 years, and performed at Disney World and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She has traveled throughout the U.S. and internationally as a drumline/marching band clinician, sponsored by Pearl Drums and Vic Firth. She was champion of the 2018 international “Hit Like A Girl” percussion contest, and later went on to perform on snare at the 2019 PASIC international percussion convention in Indianapolis. Amanda has released two self-published books on snare drum technique: Rhythmic Muse (2018) and Foundation (2020).

Before coming to Los Angeles, Amanda completed a bachelor's degree in Psychology at Western Carolina University, where she also taught, wrote, and directed drumline shows at the university’s football games in front of a weekly audience of 20,000 cheering students. She holds a master's degree in Project Management from New York University and a master's degree in Music Composition from California State University, Los Angeles. She resides in Culver City and considers herself a coffee aficionado, constantly searching for the perfect home brewing techniques.
