Sub-genres: Contained Horror/Survival Horror/Supernatural
Budget: Micro
Synopsis:
Bracy, a woman who's terrified of cats, and her husband, Richard, arrive at an Airbnb-type of secluded house for vacation. She sees a cat on the porch and panics. Richard runs the cat away.
Richard returns to the house with groceries and an ancient object. He forgot to buy wine, so he heads back to the store. Bracy reads a message on the object. “Something” shows up at the house and possesses the cat.
The cat gets inside the house. Bracy tries to escape from the creature, but it uses supernatural abilities.
As Bracy tries to leave through a basement window, the cat – now a man-sized cat monster – attacks her. Instead of running, she overcomes her fear and faces the beast. She grabs a kitchen knife and stabs the monster repeatedly, killing it.

Maurice Vaughan every current or former cat owner would watch this movie if their cats would let them.

Hi Maurice Vaughan, how about this: "While vacationing in a secluded house, a (verb) woman suffering from ailurophobia becomes the target of a possessed cat after inadvertently reading from an ancient object (specify the object maybe?)"

James Welday I think I'm going to use "While vacationing in a secluded house" (if it's ok with you). I'm not sure about "ailurophobia," because some people might not know what it means. I think "becomes the target of a possessed cat" would make the cat sound like the protagonist. But thanks for the logline suggestion!

I updated the logline, James Welday: "While vacationing in a secluded house, a woman suffering from ailurophobia tries to escape from a cat that becomes possessed after she reads an ancient object." I think from the title and "escape from a cat," people will understand what ailurophobia means. Thanks again.

Maurice Vaughan Misty said that he'd want to audition for the part of the cat :)

The logline introduces a supernatural element that can add an extra layer of intrigue and excitement to the story. The ancient object that causes the possession adds a mysterious and supernatural tone to the plot, making it more exciting and unpredictable. This can make the story stand out and capture the audience's interest, particularly if they enjoy horror or supernatural genres.

I appreciate the feedback, Mista Martel. There's also enough story if the producer, director, or production company wanted to turn the short into a feature or series down the line. Maybe an anthology series.
Thanks for rating, Robert Sacchi.

I had to look up ailurophobia, lol. Personally I think it would be a great horror/comedy, if there is such a thing.
