Jacqui Gilbert

Jacqui Gilbert has worked in the film industry in New Zealand for more than 35 years, beginning her career as an actress with roles on Shortland Street, Being Eve, Epitaph and other local and international productions. Jacqui directed/produced ‘The Palladium Players’ a Music Hall Variety stage show performing in and around Auckland for more than two decades.
After working with American film director Fred Potts in 2005, Jacqui moved into Producing film both shorts and features producing ‘Dark Past’ by Fred Potts, ‘COMPOUND’ a horror feature film shot at ‘Spookers ‘Directed by Dale Stewart , ‘ARA’ a feature Sci-Fi directed by Dimi Nakov staring, Anthony Ray Parker (The Matrix) and Bruce Hopkins ( Lord of The Rings).
Her latest film ‘Good Morning Stonus’, a short, is a sci fi comedy set in a B Grade movie world, it’s fun and silly, written and directed by Christian Nicolson. This film sits snugly between Christian’s first feature film ‘This Giant Paper Mache Boulder is Actually Really Heavy’ and the feature film’ Space Warriors in Space’ that the pair are now in the development stage. It’s hoped that ‘Good Morning Stonus’ will attract the necessary interest for Jacqui and Christian to make the feature film.
