About Lou

Lou Mires is a 2nd generation native Texan born in Houston. His father was a truck driver of Cherokee and European descent, and his mother is a homemaker of Chiricahua Apache, Argentinian, European, and African descent. He began his film journey in front of the camera in small roles such as the 2014 Sundance Film Festival hit “Hellion” and Jason Reitman’s “Men, Women, and Children”.

He has worked on countless commercials, including national commercial brands such as Cadillac, Ford, and Dell for such companies as Ridley Scott’s RSA Films and on music videos for such artists as Grammy Award winners Travis Scott, Drake, and La Mafia. Lou has worked on 11 feature films since he began his career in late 2013, including the 2019 Sundance Film Festival hit “To the Stars” with Malin Akerman, Tony Hale, Shea Whigham, Liana Liberato, and Kara Hayward. His collaborators include new and seasoned veterans in the industry as well as Emmy Award-winning artists and studios.

While Lou is working on building himself up as a director, writer, and producer of the feature films he loves collaborating with award-winning artists, he pursues his other big dream of being a world-impacting philanthropist. Lou actively supports organizations that contribute to Native American rights, education, ending world hunger and homelessness, wildlife conservation, and environmental preservation.
