About Keila

Soaring from Executive Assistant jobs at production companies to being an award-winning Screenwriter and Director for her short film, The Surprise Announcement: I am a new force to be reckoned with. I have received scholarships as a writer for Sundance Collab and JHRTS, and more. As a domestic abuse survivor, I strive to help others through sharing stories of resilience, to touch people of all diverse backgrounds. Currently, I have completed a pilot for a dramedy TV series. In addition, I am the Associate Producer of FollowLeadLOVE, a touching documentary about breaking gender and sexual orientation barriers in ballroom dance. Also, I volunteer for chair roles within organizations such as Women in Animation (WIA) NY, Latinos in Film and Entertainment (LIFE), Daughters of Penelope NYC, WOC Unite, Fairygodboss Inc., and more.

On the side, I have been an event organizer bringing professionals together in the tristate area surrounding NY. My skills include writing scripts/poems/articles/meeting minutes/speeches/pitch decks, organizing calendars, expense reporting, directing artistic vision for film projects, acting as a gatekeeping to executives, production management, coordinating meetings, hosting events, presenting as coverage to high-net prominent figures, and more. My favorite part of entertainment has been working on the development side of TV projects, which I either have supported or created. My goals include to gain employment with a studio or streamer, preferably in the TV development or film development department, and to become an established WGA writer as well as DGA director.
