Ohio-based writer focused on genre screenplays (horror/supernatural) and the intersection of horror and social issues. Writer of absurdist youth fiction with upcoming collection of short stores.
I collect the untold (until I tell them) stories of the work world through interaction and participation. I've worked in greenhouses, print shops, bars, newsrooms and factories. I've taught English in Maryland, travelled with a master woodcarver across the eastern U.S., bartended in Maine, wrote travel magazines in NYC, disassembled medical machinery, managed a small-town business newspaper, participated in an environmental thinktank in San Francisco, lobbied at the U.S. Senate on behalf of sustainable business. To me, it's about the story.
My side project, the podcast Prism of Madness, highlights the individual pieces, parts and people that go into making horror movies. Along with my co-host Chris, we showcase the beautiful madness that is movie making. We deconstruct movies to their pieces parts, exploring elements of story, style and development, and we take a look at the various roles needed to make a movie happen. After all, to stitch together a successful horror movie, it takes a lot of human parts.
