About Gabriel
I've held a range of roles in film, television and theater production and promotion. My M.A. thesis examined Shakespeare on screen. I secured my Ph.D. with a study of the impact of digital technologies on screen production, researched at such notable companies as Pixar, ILM and Weta Digital. I've held staff positions at TVNZ and New Zealand Opera. My work as a writer-director has garnered Promax, Writers Guild and Tropfest awards. I've lectured on film history at Unitec Institute of Technology. I'm a member of Actors Equity and the NZ Writers Guild and sit on the board of Film Auckland. I am vice-president of the Directors and Editors Guild of New Zealand.
