I'm much more interested in how people survive than how they die.
I was a humanitarian for over a decade and I often heard people in terrible situations say that they wish they were dead. But it's these stories that are the most extraordinary and the ones that we can all learn from.
Before I became a humanitarian, I had an idea for a thriller. It took me almost fifteen years to complete my first novel and even less than that to realise that I'm not a very good novelist. My first screenplay was much more enthusiastically received and I'm lucky enough to be working on a pitch with someone who has decades of experience in television.
Unique traits: I have a freckle on the palm of my hand.
