About Saraswathi

Vani is a writer, director, and creative producer with several award-winning shorts and documentaries to her credit. In 2013, Vani founded Dancing Atoms, LA-based content and creative development motion pictures production company.
She is working on two preschool shows, one with a Canadian production company and the other with a Thai Company. She currently consults and advises people with art direction, character development and storytelling.

As the Head of Creative Management for DreamWorks Animation in Shanghai, she championed Chinese storyboard artists to tell authentic Chinese stories designed for global audiences.

Vani also was the Executive Director of Rhythm & Hues Asia, a multiple Academy Award-winning Animation and VFX studio. She started the studios in India, Malaysia and Taiwan, and managed the talented artists and technicians that created the VFX and digital characters in movies like “Life of Pi” (VFX Oscar Winner), “The Golden Compass” (VFX Oscar Winner), and “The Chronicles of Narnia”.

Vani was also a part of writing in the Unreal Tribeca initiative along with Epic games, as an associate producer alongside Karen Dufilho.

She is currently mentoring the Sony Talent League III fellows to structure their stories and make their dreams come true.

Vani has been a mentor with Unreal fellowship in the last two years in Los Angeles. She has been a creative producer/mentor for over 100 Unreal Short films created during the fellowship.

Vani actively promotes community building all over the world. She is currently heading Women in Animation India Collective . She has been a president of Asifa India for over two decades .

She crafted a Women Creators Program in partnership with Epic Games & Asifa India with the aim to inspire and train women creators and form a community of creators.
