In Arkansas, 1869, a violin playing Bear with the power to transform into a Black man is befriended by an orphaned Black boy who helps him run away from the circus. Together they travel down the Mississippi to New Orleans singing and performing while King Leopold II of Belgium’s evil agents follow close behind, intent on shipping the magic bear to Europe to be dissected to find out the source of his magical powers.
