About Ilena

I grew up with a house full of amazing story tellers. I am a 1st generation American, half of my family Italian immigrants. Fundamentally as an artist I am interested in the micro and macro impact of art in a space and time. Since my technical skills are wide spread from sculpture to painting to illustration and my attention to detail acute, I have been able to put all the pieces of all my passions together in film. Stop motion animation is the pinnacle of creativity for me to be able to create physical worlds and tell stories through the magic of animation. Creatures in My House is a nod to the films I grew up watching but through the lens of my own life and perspective bridging humor and strangeness.

Film (short) by Director/Producer The exquisitely handcrafted world in this stop motion animated short, follows a house full of peculiar monsters waking up amuck in this askew home. This quirky and tactile household is  full of frenetic energy set off by the morning alarm. Discover what the ruckus brewing in the kitchen is really about in this colorful nod to film noir and German expressionism.  It’s horrifyingly delightful.
